Media and Crisis Communications Consultant


Norm Hartman is a consultant who prepares people to take advantage of media and public appearance opportunities. His clients – top executives, elected officials, authors, organization spokespersons and others – have appeared on 60 Minutes, The Today Show, Dateline, Nightline, 20/20, 48 Hours, Good Morning America and hundreds of others network and local broadcasts. Among his clients are the US Food and Drug Administration, The Centers for Disease Control and Protection, The Environmental Protection Agency, two dozen state health departments and a number of America’s largest corporations.

 

Hartman was a broadcast journalist in San Francisco and Sacramento for fifteen years. Subsequently he headed public affairs for Pacific Bell in Northern California. He was appointed by Governor George Deukmejian to head public affairs for the California Department of Health Services, then the largest public health agency in the US.

 

Today he conducts media seminars, workshops and training programs nationwide.

 

He is author of “The Media and You – A Basic Survival Guide” published and distributed worldwide by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions. He has contributed to a number of other health-related publications, and frequently contributes articles on media and crisis communication to trade and professional journals.
